EDF Energies Nouvelles has commissioned the Bicker wind farm in the Fenlands. The wind farm is equally owned  by EDF Energies Nouvelles and EDF Energy via EDF Energy Renewables.

The new 26 MW wind farm is the sixth project completed by the Group in this region of north-east England. This project complements the Glassmoor, Deeping, Red House, Red Tile and Walkway wind farms already in service.

The Bicker wind farm in Lincolnshire comprises 13 wind turbines, each with 2 MW in unit capacity. They were supplied by German manufacturer REpower.

In July this year, the company had announced the commissioning of the Walkway wind farm, which has an installed capacity of 14MW. This new wind farm located in County Durham (North-East England) comprises seven wind turbines, each with a unit capacity of 2MW.

Including the Bicker wind farm, EDF Energies Nouvelles and EDF Energy now own a combined total of 147.4 MW in service in the United Kingdom (123.2 MW owned by EDF Energies Nouvelles and 24.2 MW by EDF Energy).

Overall, wind power, which continues to be group's priority avenue of expansion in and outside France, accounts for more than 85 percent EDF Energies Nouvelles' total installed capacity till 30 June 2008 (Total capacity in service and under construction stood at 2,852.1 MW gross and 1,890 MW net till June this year, compared with 1,665.6 MW by the end of 2007).
