MASEN will participate at CSP Today Sevilla 2014

The Moroccan Agency for Solar Energy, MASEN, will attend the most important event for the Concentrated Solar Power industry, CSP Today Sevilla 2014.

In order to support the development of Morocco’s renewable energy resources, the World Bank has approved US$519 million for the construction of the Noor II and III CSP projects, which form part of the 500 MW Noor-Ouarzazate Complex. This confirms the attractiveness of Morocco as a destination for international CSP investors.

Noor II is a 200 MW Parabolic through project and MASEN announced the prequalified bidders for on August 2013 :
• Abengoa SA and Abengoa Solar.
• International Company for Water and Power Projects (ACWA Power) and Sener Grupo De Ingeneria SA.
• International Power SA (Dubai branch of GDF Suez) and Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC/MASDAR.

Noor III is a 100 MW Tower project and the prequalified bidders were:
• Abengoa SA and Abengoa Solar.
• EDF SA, EDF Energies Nouvelles SA, Brightsource Energy Inc, Brookstone Partners Morocco SA, Alstom Power System SA and Mitsui & Co Ltd.
• International Company for Water and Power Projects (ACWA Power) and Sener Ingeneria y Systemas.
• International Power SA (Dubai branch of GDF Suez), Solar Reserve LLC and Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC/MASDAR.

MASEN will be joined by the most important players in the CSP industry at CSP Today Sevilla 2014, on 12-13 November.
