BrightSource Energy Inc. acquired an additional $115 million in funding from Google.org, BP Alternative Energy and others; the total now stands at over $160 million. The accompanying funds are set to aid the company's progression in their plans for utility-grade concentrating solar power.

BrightSource are developing solar power plants in the Mojave Desert of Southern California, the first plant is due to be erected in 2009.
