MVV Energie invests majority stake in juwi

Germany energy company MVV Energie is to acquire a 50.1% majority shareholding interest in Wörrstadt, Germany-based juwi via a capital increase.

The transaction is expected to close no later than by the end of this year.

Together with MVV Energie, Fred Jung and Matthias Willenbacher, the co-founders of juwi, who will jointly hold 49.9% of the shares of juwi going forward, plan to intensify the juwi Group’s focus on the business areas of project development, construction and operations and management in Germany and other countries.

To its credit, juwi has realised over 20 wind projects this year throughout Germany with a total capacity of 200 MW by the end of September.
