MIC invests in Idaho Wind Partners 1

Macquarie Infrastructure Company (MIC) has invested $11.5m in a non-controlling interest in Idaho Wind Partners 1, a portfolio of 183 MW of wind power generating facilities, near Twin Falls, Idaho.

The company funded the transaction with available cash.In addition to MIC, facility owners include GE Energy Financial Services, Atlantic Power and Ruby Renewable Resources.

Idaho Wind Partners 1 (IWP) project features 11 wind farms located near Twin Falls, Idaho. It utilises 122 GE 1.5 MW turbines and commenced commercial operations in late 2010 and early 2011. Power produced by the project is sold to a regional utility pursuant to a 20-year power purchase agreement with 17 years remaining.
